| Answer: The note in the legend on Plan Sheet 5 shall be updated and clarified by the next addendum to state selective clearing is to be paid under item 201.0321 “Clearing & Grubbing”. |

| Question: With reference to a prior question regarding resetting granite block slope protection, is the crushe stone included in this item as stated in the basis of payment? If so, what is item 10 - crushed stone under structures for? |

| Answer: Crushed stone used for resetting the slope protection is included in slope protection item as indicated in the job specific specification. The quantity of Item 10 is for crushed stone below the approach slabs. |

| Question: There are some small and good size trees growing out of the stone block slope protection areas. Are these to be removed - and if so, should there be an item to r+d trees? |

| Answer: Tree removal at the slope paving is included under item 201.0321 clearing and grubbing as indicated in the legend on Plan Sheet 5. |

| Question: With reference to item code 921.9902, Slope Protection Subgrade Stabilization, under the "Installation Records" the contractor is required to submit the grout quantities pumped and Strength test results within 24 hours after installation. The "Materials" specification only defines 28 day compressive strengths and 7 day cube strengths. Please clarify what is to be submitted within 24 hours. |

| Question: Item 921.9901 Reset Granite Block Slope Protection JS-42 : It says to assume 260 cy of crushed stone @ 1'-0" depth for area on plans. The pay area is 216 sy or 1944 sf. A 1'-0" depth of stone would only be 72 cy. Please explain the reason for the difference |

| Question: 1/ The JS spec's do not line up with the bid items. (ie. there is no Structural Steel Repairs 829.9901 on the bid items ) 2/On sheet 12, Note 1 it refers us to sheet 18 for grout details but none are shown 3/ Sheet 15, Note 17 says see "A" on Sheet 26 for grout treatment@ Toe but this sheet shows nothing for this. 4/ on sheet 15, detail 2- What is the material vertically labeled "BULKHEAD" and is this continious & does it stay? 5/ Sheet 15, Note 1 says see details on sheet 27 for details of wall face but none are there. 6/ In regards to the jacking operation it infers that we will jack the entire 11 beams at once. My question is that no loads were provided to us to size the jacks. will you be providing/ 7/ On the jacking issue again, there was no guidence as to when we would jack this up? Is it any time ? After concrete demo? before or after piles? deck repair? joint replacement? The designers should point out this to us so as not put the safety of the workers and the bridge structure in harms way. |
