Per RIDOT Compilation of Approved Specifications section 607.07 BASIS OF PAYMENT for Mass Concrete, dated 4/22/16: "No separate payment will be made for this item. Compliance with the above requirements shall be considered incidental to placement of mass concrete. Costs for this item shall be included in the bid prices of the appropriate items as listed in the Proposal." Additionally, per section 607.06 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT for Mass Concrete: "'Mass Concrete' will not be measured for payment."

Per RIDOT Standard Specifications section 811.05.1 BASIS OF PAYMENT for Weep Holes and Pavement Subdrains: "Unless covered by a specific Proposal item, materials for the installation of weep holes and pavement subdrains will not be paid for separately, but will be included as incidental items in the respective contract unit prices per cubic yard as listed in the proposal for the applicable classes of Portland cement concrete."

The east abutment shall have a construction joining through the abutment centerline similar to the west abutment. The annotation will be shown in a plan revision in a forthcoming amendment.

Several of the concrete elements on the Woonsocket Hill Bridge meet the RIDOT standard criteria for mass concrete; including the abutment stems, pier footings, pier columns and pier caps. However, the plans and specifications do not designate any of these as Class MC concrete. Please confirm that there are no mass concrete requirements in this contract.

The sequence of construction on page CS-7 requires Woonsocket Hill Bridge and Pound Hill Bridge to be constructed consecutively. The substantial completion date for Woonsocket Hill Bridge is 12/15/18 and the substantial completion for the project is 5/1/19. Pound Hill bridge requires 3 phases of construction with many temperature sensitive activities such as concrete repairs, concrete slab overlay, paving and striping. Is it the intent to perform the work on this bridge over the winter months?
Answer:
The intent is that the contractor will man load the project accordingly in order to complete both projects simultaneously within the required time frame. The overall intent is to minimize the full bridge closure of Woonsocket Hill Bridge.

Is there a limit on the number of weekend Route 146 detours that can be utilized during the construction of Woonsocket Hill Road Bridge?
Answer:
Yes. One weekend closure for demolition is permitted and one weekend closure for steel erection is permitted.

TMP Attachment No. 1 Note 5 states that Route 146 NB & SB may only be closed simultaneously during the demolition of the existing Woonsocket Hill Bridge. Since the steel beam splices fall directly over each side of Route 146 will RIDOT also allow both sides to be detoured during the beam erection?
Answer:
During erection, one direction can be fully detoured with one lane open in the opposite direction. 15 minute interval closures will be allowed on the one open lane. An addendum to the TMP will be issued.
