On Sheet 11, The Undermining Repair Detail has a note which calls to "Airlift" a portion of the river bottom to accommodate the concrete filled bags. What is meant by this statement? |

Answer:
Airlifting is a suggested method of controlled underwater excavation. The river bottom must be prepared by locally excavating to help ensure that the bottom course of concrete grout filled fabric bags can be installed approximately level as shown in the Undermining Repair Detail on Sheet 11. Other methods of controlled underwater excavation to prepare the river bottom to install the grout bags can be considered. The proposed methods and equipment should be submitted as per the submittal requirements for the Concrete Grout Filled Fabric Bags stated on CS-4. |

Please correct the contract time dates in the proposal. Currently states construction starting Sept 1st 2018 and completion by August 1st 2018. |

All work is required to be completed 60 days after Notice to Proceed. This will be corrected by an Addendum. |
