Question:
Please Consider Changing Item 25 to a Force account Item. There is insufficient information to accurately bid this item as presented in the bid. There is no way to accurately calculate pipe material(being concrete pipe, you can't always use the entire pipe depending on how long the pipe run is), how many connecting collars will be needed, or how long each repair is intended to be.
Answer:
An addendum will be issued.

Question:
Please advise how item 25 Class IV 18" RCP is going to be used on this project? We need a number of locations this will be used at to correctly calculate how many connecting collars and how many pipe pieces are going to be required. Or add a separate connecting collar item to address this.
Answer:
Please refer to DRAINAGE/EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL NOTE No. 11 on Sheet 6 “JOB SPECIFIC PLAN SYMBOLS, LEGEND AND NOTES” of the plan set. Quantities for 201.0414 "Remove and Dispose pipe all sizes" and 701.0518 "Reinforced concrete pipe M170 Class IV 18 inch" have been included in the proposal to be used on an "as required" basis when the engineer determines that a section of existing corrugated metal pipe should be replaced in order to carry out the contract work. R.I. STD. 1.3.0 concrete connecting collars shall be used to connect new reinforced concrete pipe to existing corrugated metal pipe. Payment for connecting collars shall be included in the linear foot price of the new reinforced concrete pipe.
