Snow vendors

During the 2010-11 winter season, State and private plows removed over 50 inches of snow on average during 22 events. RIDOT is again seeking interested suppliers to assist with snow and ice control services along the 3,300 lane miles of State highways in Rhode Island.

The 2011-2012 winter season rates have been updated to include several new pieces of equipment and accessories. The Department is working to make more efficient use of salt and sand to reduce overall winter operations costs and. For the first time, RIDOT is offering a 20 percent green equipment incentive. Additionally, the Department will be instituting an 18 percent fuel adjustment and a 5 percent early sign-up incentive.

The 2011-2012 registration package and application is also available at all RIDOT Maintenance Facilities and Headquarters. Please contact (401) 734-4832 with any questions regarding this registration process.

Report Potholes

To report a pothole, please call 401 222-2378. This telephone line is staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

For pothole claims, please call 401 734-4817. Timeliness is important - Notice of a pothole claim must be postmarked or received within 7 days of the incident.

Damage Claims

The Department’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Claims Section provides detailed instructions on filing a claim through its automated, 24 hour Claims Line at 222-6765 ext. 4817.
