GIS Maps

The RIDOT Geographical Information Systems Unit is a part of the MIS section of policy planning. GIS makes available on the web digital versions of all their maps of the Rhode Island area, including the popular Traffic Flow map. The section's pages also provide a print order form that can be used to request printed maps from RIDOT.

Construction Management

Iway logoThrough this site, the Construction Management section makes available progress photos for some of its construction projects in progress. The section is currently administering contracts for the relocation of I-195 in Providence, replacement of the Washington Bridge, establishment of a separate freight rail line, bike paths and linear parks and enhancement of RIDOT's Intelligent Transportation System.

Intermodal Planning

The Intermodal Planning section develops and implements projects in the area of rail, water, and bicycle/pedestrian transportation. This section is responsible for developing an integrated transportation system that provides convenient connections between all modes of transportation. The Intermodal Section is also responsible for the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ), the Ferry Boat Discretionary (FBD) and Transportation Enhancement programs. It also oversees the Rideshare and Fringe Parking programs.

Materials

RIDOT's Materials Section is responsible for all quality assurance sampling and testing conducted for the Department's construction and maintenance programs.

Survey

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation Survey Section is pleased to announce the installation of a Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS). The GPS receiver files for this CORS unit are available for download from the survey homepage.
