This project has a November 2021 completion date. At this time the pre-engineered metal building manufacturers will not be able to deliver the building until 2022. Will DOT be able to work with the contractor on the building delivery date?
Answer:
Due procurement delays, RIDOT has re-evaluated the substantial completion dates. Interim completion of the sitework, including paving and foundation work, will be required by November 30,2021. Procurement of the building will need to be completed by November 30, 2021. Substantial Completion of the building will need to be completed by June 30,2022. These dates will be amended in the Contract by addendum.

Is the field applied rust inhibitor to be applied to all structural steel surfaces on the interior of the building? Can you provide a specification for the rust inhibitor?
Answer:
Specified rust inhibitor has been recently discontinued. Product information for Nukote Metal Prime I and Nukote PAII, which will be an acceptable rust inhibitor for the main framing members of the building, will be provided by addendum.

Based on bid date, award and all the requirements of this project with regards to contaminated soil, has the construction completion date been realistically evaluated? Liquidated damages are at $1,200 per day and the hygienst are saying the schedule will not be met?
Answer:
The proposed Construction Soil Management Plan calls for no-compliant soils as backfill material. The excess non-compliant soils that require off-site disposal at a licensed facility will not prevent the project being completed in compliance with the completion date.

Answer:
There is no piping entering or leaving the loading area catch basin. There is no oil-water separator.

for the proposed precast catch basin std 4.4.0, what is the intentions for this structure. is there any piping that will be tied into this structure that is not shown on the plans? or will this structure act as a dry well and be maintained by RIDOT in the future?
Answer:
The structure is a modified catch basin as shown on the plans to act as a salt and runoff containment. There is no piping entering or leaving the loading area catch basin and the structure will be modified to prevent exfiltration.

Answer:
There is no Remedial Action Work Plan available for review. The proposed soil and remedial compliance work is included in the Construction Soil Management Plan and will be provided by addendum.
