Daylight saving time begins when clocks officially go ahead an hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10.

Airport Connector, Warwick

Expect partial lane closures tomorrow, Saturday, March 9 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sculptural fencing installation on the Airport Connector West, from I-95 to Post Road. This work will continue next week when crews install airport gateway signage and additional parapet fencing. This will require alternating lane closures on Jefferson Boulevard, between the Airport Connector on and off-ramps, and shoulder closures at the Airport Connector exit (Exit 29) off I-95 South and along the Airport Connector itself, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Henderson Bridge, East Providence

Drainage work at Massasoit Avenue and Henderson Parkway are ongoing as is the installation of safety railing at the shared used path across the Henderson Bridge. No lane closures are anticipated.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

Various ramps will be closed as necessary within the I-95/Exit 37 interchange to demolish the piers on the ramp from Route 10 North to I-95 North, Sunday-Thursday nights from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please follow signed detours. Utility work also requires alternating lane closures on both directions of I-95, from Exit 37A to Exit 39A, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Pell Bridge Ramps, Newport

Next week, daytime right lane closures are scheduled for fiber optic and lighting utilities within the shoulder on Route 138, from the Pell Bridge to the JT Connell Connector, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although no lane closures are anticipated, we’ll also grade the new Park and Ride area prior to installing new sidewalks and concrete surfaces to accommodate buses, and paving, and continue to remove the existing infrastructure at the old “Road to Nowhere” while preparing the area for loam and seed this spring. Businesses remain open during construction, and traffic personnel onsite to assist.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence

Motorists can anticipate daytime alternating lane closures on Route 6 West, from the 6/10 split to Hartford Avenue, and on Route 10 North, from the Union Avenue on-ramp to Westminster Street, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Scheduled operations include constructing the center median along Route 6, from the Flyover bridge to Plainfield Street, installing curb along the Union Avenue on-ramp to Route 10 North, and traffic signal work on Service Road at Broadway and Westminster Street.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick

Bridge Group 51B: I-295 area


Expect a left lane closure on I-295 North, in the vicinity of Route 37, as we continue to build the Cranston Park East Bridge, carrying both directions of Route 37 over I-295 North, Sunday-Thursday nights, 8 p.m.-5 a.m. We’ll also have daytime alternating one-way traffic and frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone as to build the Cranston Street Bridge, carrying Route 37 East and West over Cranston Street, weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Route 146, Lincoln/North Smithfield

Left turns are prohibited for bridge work on Route 146 North and South at Sayles Hill Road, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Roadway construction requires alternating lane closures on Route 146, from Route 99 to Route 146A, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from Route 146A to the Massachusetts line, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. We’ll also have alternating lane closures on Sayles Hill Road West, from Iron Mine Hill Road to Route 146 for drainage work, and the closure of the westbound lane on Sayles Hill Road East, from Route 99 to Route 146 for roadwork, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Tower Hill Road Bridge and Paving, North/South Kingstown

We are working to replace the Tower Hill Road Bridge, carrying Route 1 (Tower Hill Road) over Route 138 in North Kingstown. As part of this contract, we will also resurface about 6.5 miles of Tower Hill Road, from the Route 4 split to the Oliver Stedman Government Center. There is a new traffic pattern currently in place on Route 138 with a shift to the right and a work zone in the center median. Next week, crews will work behind barrier on Route 138 at the Route 1 Interchange ramps. Expect frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone for drainage work, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
