There is a 4% DBE requirement for this project. The list of bid items does not include many work items that are traditionally performed by R.I. DBE subcontractors. Item #11 - Supplemental price adjustments and #12 - Miscellaneous work are must bid items worth $125,000.0 value. will these items be considered for DBE participation, as it is possible that these could be performed by DBE subcontractors? |

The DBE requirement will remain 4% for this project and Items #11 and #12 can be considered for DBE participation. |

Please specify how much berm is to be included or make it a force account item. You are not providing any information to price other than when we are in the field it will be determined. We cannot price something we do not know the extent of. |

Answer:
The cost of new berm will remain included in Items 401.9901 and 411.9902 and be installed as described on Page CS-3 Paragraph 4j. New berm will not be a force account item. It is recommended that bidders conduct a field review of each road in development of bid prices. |

See Page CS-3 Paragraph 4j. The intent is to leave existing berm in place on the applicable roads. However, there are some sections of bituminous berm that are in poor condition and shall be replaced. The limits of new bituminous berm will be determined in the field by the Engineer. New berm will be paid for under Items 401.9901 or 411.9902. |
