Washington Bridge & I-195, East Providence/ProvidenceBypass lanes for I-195 West traffic from East Providence to Providence remain open. This temporary traffic pattern allows three lanes of travel eastbound and three lanes of travel westbound – all operating on the eastbound Washington Bridge. Expect delays.
Providence: I-195 West, from Exit 1C to Exit 1A, alternating lane closures for bridge preservation work, Sun. – Thurs. nights, 8 p.m. – 4 a.m.
Cranston: Rhode Island Energy is scheduled to perform overhead utility relocation in several locations on Tues. night (May 19), from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., which will require brief intermittent highway and ramp closures. The ramps from Rte. 10 North to I-95 North, as well as the ramp to Elmwood Ave. from I-95 North, are scheduled to be closed for up to one hour, during which traffic will be detoured. On Rte. 10 North and South over I-95, we will have short-term closures lasting no more than 15 minutes.
Providence: I-95, at the Exit 37 Interchange, various ramps will be closed for construction and then reopened once no longer needed, Sun. – Thurs. nights, 11 p.m. – 6 a.m. Follow signed detours.
Providence: All travel lanes are shifted to the right on I-95 North, between the Rte. 10/Elmwood Ave. off-ramp (Exit 33) and the Thurbers Ave. off-ramp (Exit 35), for replacement of the Broad and Eddy St. Bridges in Providence through 2027. Learn more.
Providence: I-95 at Eddy Street, all lanes are narrowed and shifted to the left on I-95 North and South at this overpass, located near the Thurbers Ave. (Exit 35) interchange for bridge work until further notice.
Providence/Cranston/Warwick: RIDOT has temporarily closed the ramp (Exit 1C) from Route 10 North to I-95 South in Cranston for approximately four months to build new ramps and retaining walls as part of the I-95 15 Bridges project. Warwick: The on-ramp from Jefferson Blvd. to I-95 South in Warwick is closed for bridge construction through summer 2027.
