The $35.8 million Tower Hill Road project includes replacement of the 55-year-old Tower Hill Road Bridge, carrying Tower Hill Road over Route 138 in North Kingstown, and resurfacing of 6.5 miles of Tower Hill Rd (US-1) from the Route 4 split in North Kingstown to the Oliver Stedman Government Center in South Kingstown.
Throughout the bridge’s replacement, we will utilize Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) methods and (SPMTs) Self-Propelled Modular Transporters. Additional work includes replacing the existing wheelchair ramps at the Bridgetown Road/Morresfield Road intersection with ADA compliant ones, and improving stormwater treatment.
Our construction operations along Tower Hill Road and Route 138 will encompass electrical work, roadway realignment and drainage improvements behind barriers. We anticipate frequent vehicle access in and out of the work zones. |
