Traffic Pattern Changes - Divided Highway

I-195 Providence: On I-195 East and West, between the I-95 interchange and Exit 2 (EB: India St./Gano St.; WB: South Main St.), motorists are encountering a divided highway configuration with one lane to the left and three lanes to the right for bridge work. Motorists should not stop in the work zone or change lanes. All lanes go through.

I-95 Cranston: I-95 North, from Exit 13 (Rte. 1) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), left lane and shoulder closed for electrical work, Thursday night from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

Ongoing Restrictions

I-195 East Providence: On I-195 East, between Exit 6 (Broadway) and the Massachusetts state line, motorists need to use the far right lane to access Exit 7 (Rte. 114). The two left lanes are for I-195 East through traffic only. The right lane also can be used for access to Exit 8 (Warren Ave.) or to continue on I-195 East into Massachusetts.

I-95 Exeter/Richmond: Watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the median area along I-95 South after Exit 5 (Rte. 102) at the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Spring 2017.

Warwick: Effective Monday morning at Apponaug Four Corners (Post Rd. at Centerville Rd. and Greenwich Ave.), a new traffic pattern has been established. Motorists are required to navigate through the area around traffic barrels as a phase in the roundabout development.  Stay to the right of the barrels. 

Temporary Road Closure

117 Warwick: Rte. 117 (Centerville Rd.), east of Meadow St. to Post Rd., remains closed to through traffic for construction until the final traffic configuration is implemented.  Local traffic access will be maintained to the businesses. Please note: lane shifts for construction are possible Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Coventry: Arnold Rd. North and South, from New London Tpke. to Johnson Blvd., one lane of alternating traffic for Town of Coventry sewer work, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Summer 2017.

402 East Greenwich: Rte. 402 (Frenchtown Rd.), from Davisville Rd. to Rte. 1 (Post Rd.), alternating left and right lane closures for a bridge inspection, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Warwick: Jefferson Blvd. North and South, from Okeefe Ln. to Jefferson Park Rd., right shoulder closures for sign installation, Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Warwick: Ives Rd. East and West, from Wampanoag Rd. to Bradford Rd., partial right lane closures in a moving operation for drainage work, Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Warwick: West Shore Rd. East and West, from Warwick Ave. to Beach Ave., right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for drainage work, Wednesday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Rte 2 Warwick: Rte. 2 North, from Rte. 113 to the I-295 overpass, right lane and shoulder closed for drainage work, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

117 Warwick: Rte. 117 East and West, from Sandy Ln. to Long St., right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sidewalk sweeping, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

117 Warwick: Rte. 117 West, from Beach Ave. to Sandy Lane, right shoulder closed in a moving operation for drainage work, Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Warwick: Post Rd. Village, from Apponaug Four Corners to Spruce St., one lane closed, with shoulder closures possible for construction, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parking may also be impacted within the construction zone.

Rte 1 Warwick: Rte. 1 (Post Rd.) South and North under Rte. 113 (Main Ave.), right lane closed for a bridge inspection, Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rte 2 Warwick: Rte. 2 North, from Rhode Island Mall to the I-295 overpass, center lane closed for bridge work through Fall 2017.

117 Warwick: Rte. 117 (Centerville Rd.), from Meadow St./Burger King to Post Rd. (Apponaug Four Corners), Eastbound and Westbound traffic are now using the Veterans Memorial Dr. Extension.  Centerville Rd. is closed to thru traffic from Post Rd. to Meadow St. Please note: access to/from businesses is maintained.

Warwick: A temporary traffic signal has been activated at the Metro Center Blvd. Bridge carrying Metro Center Blvd. over the Airport Connector. With this activation, the detour has been removed. Motorists will now experience one lane of alternating traffic, and possible delays, through Winter 2017.

Warwick: Airport Connector East at the Jefferson Blvd. off-ramp, lanes shifted to the high speed lane, with all exits open. Westbound traffic will continue through the current configuration through Winter 2017.
