I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), two left lanes closed for construction, Friday night, December 2 and Saturday night, December 3 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), two left lanes closed for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Weekend

I-295 Warwick: I-95 South, from Rte. 115 (Toll Gate Rd.) to Exit 10 (Rte. 117), two right lanes closed for bridge work, Saturday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Overnight

I-95 Exeter/Richmond: I-95 South, from Exit 5 (Rte. 102) to the Exit 4 on-ramp from Rte. 3, one lane open for barrier placement, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), two left lanes closed for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Weekday

I-95 Hopkinton: I-95 South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 1 (Rte. 3), right shoulder closed for drainage work, Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-95 West Greenwich to Cranston: I-95 North and South, from Exit 6A (Hopkins Hill Rd.) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), two right lanes closed for pavement repair, Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ongoing Restrictions

I-95 Exeter/Richmond: Watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the median area along I-95 South after Exit 5 (Rte. 102) at the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Spring 2017.

I-195 Providence: I-195 East and West, from the I-95 interchange to Exit 2 (EB: India St./Gano St.; WB: South Main St.), left shoulder closure for construction through Fall 2016.

I-295 Warwick: I-295 North and South at the East Ave. overpass near Exit 1 (Rte. 113), bridge work behind barrier, with right and left shoulder closures, through Fall 2016.

Other Limited Access Highway Restrictions

Friday and Saturday Nights

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Rte. 6/10 East to I-95 South, ramp closed for construction, Friday night, December 2 and Saturday night, December 3 from midnight to 6 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour using I-95 North.

Weekend

Rte 4
East Greenwich: Rte. 4 North and South at Exit 8 (Rte. 401), ramp narrowing for tree trimming and brush cutting, Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon.

146 Lincoln: Rte. 146 North at I-295 South, ramp narrowed for brush cutting and wood chipping, Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon. Temporary delays possible.

Temporary Road Closure

Rte 78 Westerly: Rte. 78 (Veterans Way) East and West, from Exit 4 (Rte. 3) to Exit 3 (High St.), road closed for bridge work, Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour.

Temporary Ramp Closure

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Rte. 6/10 East to I-95 South, ramp closed for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from midnight to 6 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour using I-95 North.

Overnight

138 Jamestown: Rte. 138 East and West, from Rte. 1 to the Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge, watch for our crews in a moving operation for highway lighting work, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.

Rte 24
Tiverton:
Rte. 24 North and South, from Boyds Lane to Fish Rd., watch for our crews in a moving operation for highway lighting work, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.

Rte 78
Westerly: Rte. 78 East and West, from the Connecticut state line to Rte. 1, watch for our crews in a moving operation for highway lighting work, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.

Weekday

Rte 10 Providence: Rte. 10 North, from the Union Ave. overpass to Westminster St., right lane and shoulder closures for drainage work, Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Ongoing Restriction

Rte 1 Narragansett: Rte. 1 South, beneath the Woodruff Ave. Bridge, between the Narragansett exit and the Point Judith/Scarborough/Rte. 108 exit, right exit lane closed for construction through December 2016.

Continuing

Rte 4 East Greenwich: Rte. 4 North and South under Rte. 2 (South County Trail), right shoulder closures for bridge work through the end of the year.

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Truck traffic is restricted to the right lane from the Westminster St. overpass over Rte. 10 South/Rte. 6 West to the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange, and on Rte. 6 East at the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange.

Metropolitan Providence

Friday and Saturday Nights

Providence: Memorial Blvd. West to I-95 South, ramp closed for construction, Friday night, December 2 and Saturday night, December 3 from midnight to 5 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour using I-95 North.

Temporary Bridge Closure

Providence: Francis St., just south of Memorial Blvd., road closure possible for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour.

Providence: Francis St., from Exchange Terrace to Memorial Blvd. and at its intersection with the Rte. 6/I-95 ramps, lane closures possible for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Noise anticipated.

Weekday

Rte 6 East Providence: Rte. 6 East and West, from Moorland Ave. to Boyd Ave., alternating lane closures for construction, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

114 East Providence:
Rte. 114 North, from the Wampanoag Trail to I-195, alternating lane closures for bridge work, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Providence:
During bridge reconstruction, lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages are possible on Promenade St. at Pleasant Valley Pkwy., Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Dean St. and Kinsley Ave., Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, during that same time period, the lane from Kinsley Ave. to Providence Place may be closed; traffic should follow the detour from Dean St. (South) to West Exchange St. to Sabin St., back to West Exchange St. and then to Dean St. (North).

Promenade St. West, from Park St. to Holden St., left lane closed for construction, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Providence:
Providence Place East, from Harris Ave. to Park St., left lane and sidewalk closures for construction, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Northern R.I. & Blackstone Valley

Continuing

Rte 5 North Smithfield: Rte. 5 (Providence Pike), between Main St. and Church St. in Slatersville, there is a single-lane alternating traffic pattern due to bridge condition. Portable traffic signals are in place to direct vehicles over the bridge.

Rte 122 Woonsocket: On Rte. 122 (Hamlet Ave.) at the Hamlet Avenue Bridge over the Blackstone River, one lane closed in each direction for bridge work through Fall 2016.

: Expect intermittent short-term lane closures for construction at the following locations, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Veterans Memorial Dr./Post Rd./Post Rd Extension roundabout; Rte. 115 (Toll Gate Rd.) roundabout.

117 Warwick
: Rte. 117 (Centerville Rd.) East, and eastbound on the Veterans Memorial Dr. Extension from Gilbane St. to the Burger King driveway, intermittent short-term lane and shoulder closures for construction, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Warwick: Expect shoulder and side street closures for asphalt placement at driveways and parking lots at the following locations, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Rte. 117 (Centerville Rd.); Rte. 115 (Toll Gate Rd.); Post Rd. East.

Warwick: Airport Connector East and West, from Jefferson Blvd. to the Post Rd. overpass, left lane closed for bridge work through Fall 2016.

Rte 2 Warwick: Rte. 2 North and South under I-295, all lanes will remain open through Spring 2017.

Rte 2 East Greenwich: Rte. 2 (South County Trail) North and South over Rte. 4, right lane closures for bridge work through the end of the year.

Warwick: A temporary traffic signal has been activated at the Metro Center Blvd. Bridge carrying Metro Center Blvd. over the Airport Connector. With this activation, the detour has been removed. Motorists will now experience one lane of alternating traffic, and possible delays, through Winter 2017.

Rte 2 Warwick: Rte. 2 North and South, from East Ave. to I-295, shoulder closures for bridge work, through December 2016.

Warwick: As part of the Apponaug Circulator Project, Kettle St. at Greenwich Ave. has closed permanently. Use Toll Gate Rd., Gilbert St. and Tanner Ave. as an alternate route. Get Detour Maps »

Warwick: The right lane is closed on a short section of the Post Rd. Extension East, beginning at Post Rd., for Apponaug Circulator work. This restriction will remain throughout the duration of the project.
