Weekday

I-195 Cranston/Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), left lane and shoulder closures for electrical work, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Rte. 195 East Providence: I-195 East at Exit 5 (Rte. 103), right shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I-195 Exeter/Richmond: I-95 North and South, from Exit 4 (Rte. 3) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for survey work, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-195 Hopkinton: I-95 North and South, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to the Wood River Valley Bridge over Mechanic St., lane and shoulder closures for survey work, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lincoln: I-295 North at Exit 18A (Rte. 146 South), right shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lincoln: I-295 South at Exit 18B (Rte. 146 North), right shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I-195 Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), left lane and shoulder closures for electrical work, Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-195 Warwick: I-95 North at Exit 11 (I-295 North), left shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ongoing Restriction

Johnston: I-295 North and South at Rte. 5 (Greenville Ave.) between Exit 6 (Rte. 6) and Exit 7 (Rte. 44), right shoulder closures for construction, through Summer 2018.

Other Limited Access Highway Restrictions

Overnight

Rte. 146 North Smithfield: Rte. 146 North and South, from the Lincoln town line to the Massachusetts state line, alternating lane closures for survey work, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day, and Tuesday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

Rte 6 Providence: Rte. 6 East and West, from Atwells Ave. to Broadway, alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.

Weekday

Rte. 138 North Kingstown: Rte. 1 North at Rte. 138, alternating lane and shoulder closures for bridge work, Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Rtes. 6/10 Connector at Dean St., right shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Continuing

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Truck traffic is restricted to the right lane from the Westminster St. overpass over Rte. 10 South/Rte. 6 West to the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange, and on Rte. 6 East at the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange.

Rte 24 Tiverton/Portsmouth: Rte. 24 South at the Old Sakonnet River Bridge, please watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the shoulder to access the construction site, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Summer 2018.

Metropolitan Providence

Temporary Road Closures

Rte 5 Johnston: Rte. 5 (Greenville Ave.) at I-295 is closed for Narragansett Bay Commission sewer line installation. The work zone has been modified with the closure from Salina Ave. to Atwood Ave. Follow signed detours. Please note: the road will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles. Pawtucket
: Division Street East over the Division Street Bridge, from Pleasant St. to Water St., will be closed for construction Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Westbound travel is not restricted.  Local traffic is being detoured via Main St. and School St., with an advanced detour available on I-95 North at Exit 28 (School St.)

Pawtucket: Taft St., under the Division St. Bridge, a lane shift for construction remains in effect.

Weekday

Providence: O’Connell St. East and West, from Eddy St. to Allens Ave., alternating one-way traffic with lane closures for a bridge inspection, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Providence: Elmwood Ave. North and South, from the I-95 underpass to the entrance to Roger Williams Park, has continuous alternating lane closures for construction and bridge work through May 2018.

Temporary Road Closure

Tiverton: Riverside Dr. North and South, from Evans Ave. to Quaker Ave., will be closed for construction, Tuesday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Follow signed detour. Please note: school bus traffic will be accommodated.

RITBA Bridges

Bristol/Jamestown/Newport/Portsmouth/Tiverton: The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) is responsible for maintenance and construction activities on the Jamestown-Verrazzano, Newport Pell, Mt. Hope and Sakonnet River bridges. Click here for more information.

Temporary Bridge Closures

Cumberland: The Town-owned Howard Rd. Bridge, which carries Howard Rd. over Abbott Run, is currently closed. Please follow signed detour via Abbot Run Valley Rd. in Cumberland or from Paine Rd. in Massachusetts. More information is available here.

Rte 44 Smithfield: At the Rte. 44 West on-ramp to I-295 South, right shoulder closed for light pole installation, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Rte 44 Glocester: Motorists on Rte. 44 East and West, at its intersection with Rte. 100, are currently utilizing the new roundabout.

Rte 122 Woonsocket: On Rte. 122 (Hamlet Ave.) at the Hamlet Ave. Bridge over the Blackstone River, lane shifts possible for day work through Winter 2017.

Rte. 102 West Greenwich: Rte. 102 (Victory Hwy.) North and South, over I-95 at the Victory Hwy. Bridge, lane shift and shoulder closures in a moving operation for construction, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Continuing

Rte. 112 Charlestown/Richmond: Motorists are experiencing an alternating one-way traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals, for bridge work, 24 hours a day on Rte. 112 North and South, from Butter Lane to Carolina Mill Lane. Expect delays.

Hopkinton/Richmond: Rte. 91 (Church St.) East and West at the Wood River Bridge, shoulder closures with a double lane shift for bridge work, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This traffic pattern is scheduled to last through the end of February 2018.
