Providence: I-95, from Exit 21 to Exit 24, alternating lane closures for bridge demolition, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

Providence:
Rte. 6 East, from Memorial Blvd. to the Dean St. overpass, please be mindful of noise for pile driving and construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Providence:
Smith St., from Francis St. to Holden St., right lane closed for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Parking restrictions possible.

New Traffic Patterns

Pawtucket: I-95 South, from just past Exit 30 to Central Ave., all traffic now shifts to the right.

Providence: I-95 South at Exit 19, all lanes now shift to the right for approx. 7 months.

Richmond: I-95, at Exit 3, traffic has shifted to the left on I-95 South and to the right on I-95 North through spring 2021. Exit 3 is now a single exit in both directions of I-95.

Temporary Exit Closures

Cranston: I-295 South, Exit 3B is closed for construction, Sun.-Mon. nights, 9 p.m.-6 a.m. Follow signed detour.

Overnight

Cranston: I-95, at the Rte. 10 overpass, alternating lane closures for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

East Providence:
I-195 East, from Exit 2C to Mass. line, and West, from Mass. line to Exit 2, alternating lane closures for sign work, Mon.-Tues. nights, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

Johnston:
I-295, from Rte. 6 to Greenville Ave., alternating lane closures in a moving operation for construction, Mon. night, 7 p.m.-3 a.m.

Pawtucket:
I-95 South, from Mass. line to Exit 29, and North, from Exit 30 to Mass line, alternating lane closures for sign work, Wed.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

West Greenwich/Exeter: I-95 South, from Rte. 102 (Victory Hwy.) to Austin Farm Rd., left lane closed for construction, Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Other Limited Access Highway Restrictions

6/10 Interchange Project (Providence)

Rte. 6

  • Rte. 6 East, the split will start just after the Hartford Ave. on-ramp.  Please note: this is one-quarter mile before the 6/10 split.
  • Rte. 6 East, all traffic shifted onto the existing Rte. 6 West roadway just after the Hartford Ave. exit. Lanes are narrow.
  • The Broadway off ramp is closed.

Rte. 10

  • Rte. 10 South, from the 6/10 split to Union Ave., alternating lane closures for construction, Mon.-Fri., 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Rte. 10 North, from Union Ave. to Tobey St., alternating lane closures for construction, Mon.-Fri., 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

6/10 Connector

  • On Connector outbound a new lane split is in place for Rte. 10 South and Route 6 West, one-half mile before its original location. Lanes are narrow.

Affected City Streets

  • The Tobey Street on-ramp is closed. Follow signed detour.
  • Traffic shifted on the Broadway and Westminster St. bridges over the highway.
  • Westminster St. West at the Westminster St. Bridge, one lane closed for bridge work through 2021.
  • Westminster St. on-ramp to Rte. 10 South is closed. Follow signed detour.

Project-wide

  • Periodic one-lane closures possible along Rte. 10 and Rte. 6 on off-peak hours Mon.-Fri.

New Traffic Pattern

Providence: A new traffic pattern is in place on Rte. 6, from Hartford Ave. to Killingly St. All lanes shift to the left and one of the three lanes will be closed for bridge construction through Spring 2021.

Cranston: Rte. 37 West, from I-295 South off-ramp to Natick Ave., lanes shifted for construction, Fri. night (May 14)., 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

Cranston/Warwick:
Rte. 37 West, from I-95 South to Exit 1E, alternating lane closures for utility work, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

East Greenwich/North Kingstown/Warwick:
Rte. 4, from Rte. 1 to I-95, delays possible in a moving operation for striping, Sun.-Thurs. nights, 7 p.m.-5 a.m.

Johnston: Rte. 6, from Killingly St. to Hartford Ave., alternating lane closures in a moving operation for construction, Mon. night, 7 p.m.-3 a.m.

Weekday

North Kingstown: Rte. 1, from Camp Ave. to Post Rd., alternating lane closures for construction, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Metropolitan Providence

Henderson Bridge

East Providence: Henderson Pkwy. West, at the off-ramp to Massasoit, ramp closed for construction until further notice.

Providence:
East River Rd., under the Henderson Bridge, alternating one-way traffic for construction, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Providence/East Providence:
Henderson Expwy. And Massasoit Ave., from North Broadway to South Angell St./Waterman St., Westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the bridge establishing 2-way traffic on the southern side of the bridge for approximately two years. Henderson Pkwy West, from Massasoit Ave. will be closed permanently.

Providence/East Providence: Henderson Expwy. West, from North Broadway to Angell St., left lane closed for construction, 24 hours a day.

Temporary Bridge Closures

Johnston/North Providence: The Greystone Sluiceway Bridge on Greystone Ave. over the Woonasquatucket River, between Riverside Ave. in Johnston and Rte. 104 (Waterman Ave.) in North Providence, is closed. Follow signed detour using Waterman Ave. and Rte. 44 (Putnam Pke.).

New Traffic Pattern

Pawtucket: Main St., under I-95, two-way traffic pattern for bridge work, effective until the middle of May 2021.

Overnight

Cranston: Pontiac Ave., under Rte. 37, alternating lane closures for utility work, Mon.-Thurs. nights, 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

Weekday

Central Falls: Rte. 114, from Division St. to Madeira Ave., lanes narrowed for construction, Mon.-Wed., 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

East Providence:
Rte. 44, from Pawtucket Ave. to the Mass. line, alternating lane closures with narrowed and shifted lanes in a moving operation for construction, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Noise anticipated.

Johnston/Cranston:
Rte. 14, from Sailor’s Way to the on-ramp to I-295 North, and from Simmonsville Ave. to the on-ramp to I-295 South, right lane closed for bridge work, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Providence: Allens Ave., from Blackstone Rd. to New York Ave., narrowed lanes for electrical work, Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Temporary Road Closure

Burrillville: traffic on Rte. 102 (Bronco Hwy.) North at the Mohegan Bridge will detour onto Victory Hwy. until the end of the year.  Southbound traffic will not be affected. Follow signed detour.

Route 5 Improvements

Cranston/Warwick: two southbound lanes on Rte. 5, from Knight St. to St. Paul Church, will be closed continuously through the 2021 construction season, with one lane of travel going north, the other south. 

Warwick: Rte. 5 South, from Knight St. to Shalom Dr., right lane closed for construction, Mon.-Fri., 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

New Traffic Pattern

Coventry: Alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals for bridge work, 24 hours per day on Rte. 33 (Sandy Bottom Rd.), over the Pawtuxet River at the Sandy Bottom Bridge, through summer 2021. Access to local businesses maintained. Reduced lane widths. Expect delays.

Warwick: Rte. 2, at its intersection with the I-295 South ramp, alternating lane closures with narrowed lanes for electrical work, Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
