Extended Ramp Narrowing

I-95 Providence: On the ramp from I-195 West to I-95 South, ramp narrowed for construction going from two lanes to one, Friday, November 17 at 7 p.m. to Monday, November 20 at 5 a.m. Expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

Weekend

Smithfield: I-295 South at Exit 8 (Rte. 7), Exit 7 (Rte. 44) and Exit 6 (Rte. 6), partial right lane and shoulder closures/ramp narrowing in a moving operation for drainage work, Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Overnight

I-95 Cranston/Providence: I-95 North and South, from just north of the Exit 16 interchange to the Oxford Street overpass, alternating lane closures for construction, Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Johnston to Cumberland: I-295 North and South, from Exit 5 (Scituate Ave.) to the Massachusetts state line, right lane closures in a moving operation for litter removal, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 28 (School St.) to the Massachusetts state line, alternating lane, and short-duration ramp closures possible for drainage work, Sunday-Tuesday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 22 (Downtown Providence/Rtes. 6 & 10) to the end of the Providence Viaduct, two right lanes closed for bridge work, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following day. Please note: the on-ramp from Atwells Ave. to I-95 North will also be closed at this time. Follow signed detour.

I-95 Providence:
I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 21 (Atwells Ave.), three left lanes closed for construction, Tuesday night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Expect delays.

I-95 Providence:
I-95 North and South, over Thurbers Ave., left lane closures for bridge work, Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Providence:
I-95 North and South, over O’Connell St., right lane closures for bridge work, Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

I-95 Providence: I-95 North and South, over Public St., right lane closures for bridge work, Monday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Truck traffic is restricted to the right lane from the Westminster St. overpass over Rte. 10 South/Rte. 6 West to the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange, and on Rte. 6 East at the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange.

Rte 24 Tiverton/Portsmouth: Rte. 24 South at the Old Sakonnet River Bridge, please watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the shoulder to access the construction site, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Summer 2018.

Rte 4 Warwick: Rte. 4 South, from the I-95 split to Exit 8 (Rte. 2/East Greenwich), right shoulder closed until December 2017 for bridge work.

Metropolitan Providence

Weekend

Providence: Weybosset St., from Dorrance St. to Exchange St., will be closed for construction, Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Follow signed detour.

Temporary Road Closures

Rte 5 Johnston: Rte. 5 (Greenville Ave.) at I-295 is closed for Narragansett Bay Commission sewer line installation through November 2017. The work zone has been modified with the closure from Salina Ave. to Atwood Ave. Follow signed detours. Please note: the road will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles. Pawtucket
: Division Street East over the Division Street Bridge, from Pleasant St. to Water St., will be closed for construction Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Westbound travel is not restricted.  Local traffic is being detoured via Main St. and School St., with an advanced detour available on I-95 North at Exit 28 (School St.)

Ongoing Traffic Patterns

Rte 2 Cranston: Rte. 2 North and South, from Sockanosset Cross Rd. to Howard Ave. under the Rte. 37 overpass, right shoulder and merge lanes closed for bridge work through Friday, December 15. Please note: Motorists exiting Rte. 37 West to Rte. 2 South and Rte. 37 East to Rte. 2 North will be required to stop at the bottom of the ramps prior to entering Rte. 2.

Rte 152 East Providence: Rte. 152 (Newman Ave.) North & South, from Barney St. to the Massachusetts state line, alternating one-way traffic for bridge construction in effect through the duration of the project.

Pawtucket: Taft St., under the Division St. Bridge, a lane shift for construction remains in effect.

Weekday

East Providence: Pawtucket Ave. at #3070, right lane closed for traffic signal work, Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Providence: Lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages are possible for ongoing construction on Promenade St. and Dean St., Pleasant Valley Parkway, Kinsley Ave. and Providence Place, Monday-Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect delays.

Providence: Plainfield St. North and South, from Hartford Ave. to Pocasset Ave., alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
