I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

• Providence: I-95 North motorists are using a new traffic pattern after the Downtown exit and near Providence Place Mall with a newly relocated Exit 38, about one mile south of its former location. RIDOT has posted numerous signs to guide motorists to their destinations.
  

Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

• New Traffic Pattern: Bypass lanes for I-195 West traffic from East Providence to Providence are open. This temporary traffic pattern allows three lanes of travel eastbound and three lanes of travel westbound – all operating on the eastbound Washington Bridge. Expect delays.
  

Reconstruction of Route 146 (Lincoln/North Smithfield)

• Lincoln: Starting Fri. (May 17) at 9 p.m., Rte. 146 North, at Exit 8B (I-295 South), exit closed for a traffic shift through the fall. A lane split will be in place to divide highway. Follow signed detour.
• Lincoln: I-295 South, Exit 18A (Rte. 146 South) and Exit 18B (Rte. 146 North), ramps closed to conduct a traffic shift, Fri. night (May 17), 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Follow signed detours. During this time, there may be alternating lane closures on I-295 South at Rte. 146 and on Rte. 146, from Rte. 116 to Rte. 99.

Route 37 Improvements (Cranston/Warwick)

• Cranston: Rte. 37, from I-95 to Pontiac Ave., alternating lane closure for bridge construction, Sun. – Thurs. night, 9 p.m. – 3 a.m.
• Cranston: Pontiac Ave., from the Rte. 37 West ramps to the Rte. 37 East ramps, alternating lane closures for bridge construction, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

     

Henderson Bridge (East Providence, Providence)

• East Providence: Henderson Pkwy. West, at the off-ramp to Massasoit, ramp closed for construction. Follow signed detour.
• East Providence: East River St./River Dr., from Waterman St. to Angell St., road closed for bridge demolition, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Follow signed detour.

Weekday

• North Providence: Charles St. at Charlotte St. intersection, alternating one-way traffic for road construction, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Providence: Allens Ave./Narragansett Blvd., from Massachusetts Ave. to Chapman St., right lane closure for sidewalk & curb work, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

East Bay Bike Path Bridges

• Barrington/Warren: Rte. 114, at the Barrington and Warren Bridges, the northbound boardwalks will remain open during demolition and construction of the bike path bridges, providing a continuous off-road path around the construction area.

Newport Pell Bridge Approaches - Phase II

• Newport: Minimal traffic impacts are expected during daytime operations including maintenance of drainage swales, installation of loam and seed sitewide, and miscellaneous work on the newly installed traffic cabinets and lighting signals.

Weekday

• Middletown: Rte. 138A (Aquidneck Ave.), from Newport Ave. to Purgatory Rd., alternating one-way traffic for wheelchair ramp installation, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

New Traffic Pattern

• Smithfield: Rte. 44 (Putnam Pk.) & I-295 South at Exit 12 A/B on-ramps, alternating lane closures for road construction, Mon. – Fri., 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Weekday

• Glocester: Rte. 44, from Reservoir Rd. to the roundabout, alternating shoulder closures for drainage work, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Smithfield/North Smithfield: Rte. 7, from Rte. 104 to Thurber Blvd., alternating lane closures for drainage work, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

     

New Traffic Pattern

• North Kingstown: Effective Fri. night (May 17), the travel lanes on Rte. 138 West under the Tower Hill Rd. (Rte. 1) Bridge are scheduled to shift to the left.

Overnight

• North Kingstown: Rte. 1 (Tower Hill Rd.) from the Stedman Government Center to Shermantown Rd., alternating lane closures in a moving operation for milling & paving, Sun. – Thurs. night, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.
• West Greenwich: Rte. 3 under Nooseneck Hill Rd. bridge, alternating lane closures for bridge power washing & painting, Sun. – Thurs. nights, 8 p.m. – 4 a.m.

Airport Connector

• Warwick: Airport Connector, from Post Rd. to I-95 North, right shoulder closure for landscaping work, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Warwick: Post Rd., from Warwick Ave. to the TF Green Airport entrance, alternating lane closures for road structure adjustment work, Mon – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Warwick: Rte. 117 (West Shore Rd.), at Warwick Ave., alternating lane closures with lanes narrowed and shifted for curb & utility work, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
