This comprehensive project will replace two structurally deficient bridges on Route 113 where it passes over I-95 and I-295, carrying approximately up to 33,000 vehicles per day. Route 113 is a major east-west corridor for Warwick, linking large residential and commercial areas including access to the Community College of Rhode Island’s Knight Campus. The project includes paving, sidewalk work, ADA accessibility, new traffic signal upgrades, new pedestrian crossing features, and many other safety improvements along other important corridors in the city.

Last week we began milling and paving on Main Avenue (Route 113) in Warwick. Over the next few weeks, operations will take place Monday-Thursday nights, then Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers can expect one-lane alternating traffic patterns and lane shifts. Work will start at the intersection with Greenwich Avenue (Route 5) and proceed eastward to the intersection with West Shore Road (Route 117). We're also milling and paving, as well as making traffic signal improvements, at the intersection of Route 113 and Route 2, which will require alternating lane closures on Tuesday through Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the daytime, lanes will be shifted for curb and sidewalk work on Main Avenue, from Greenwich Avenue to West Shore Road, and on West Shore Road, from Main Avenue to Coronado Road, Tuesday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists can also expect a right lane closure on Post Road, from Main Avenue to Coronado Road for curb and sidewalk work during the same days and working hours. |
