This project will consist of long-anticipated improvements to sidewalks on a section of North Kingstown's busiest commercial area on Post Road, from Camp Avenue to West Main Street, as well as on West Main Street itself, the main access to the village of Wickford (Post Road to Brown Street). More than two miles of roadway will be improved.
In addition to sidewalk improvements, we will upgrade drainage systems and build treatment units to capture pollutants in stormwater runoff. We will also add ADA-complaint wheelchair ramps and new pedestrian crossing signals. These roadways will be resurfaced after we complete work on the sidewalks.

Next week at this project, motorists should expect alternating lane closures with narrowed lanes and frequent vehicle access in/out of work zone for continued drainage installation within the roadway shoulders on Route 1 (Post Road), from Camp Avenue to West Main Street, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Other operations include the start of water line work, from Richard Smith Drive to West Main Street, by North Kingstown Water, and project-wide gas line installation by Rhode Island Energy. |
